Choosing the sale and the dates

Selecting the sale that will host your item and setting the viewing and collection dates.

🏷️

This article is for sellers. It helps you choose the sale that will host your item and correctly set up the viewing and collection dates, two elements that commit your organization to the buyer.

Summary

  • You don't create a sale: you select an existing sale from a drop-down list.
  • Two families of sales coexist: themed sales, focused on one type of item, and all-equipment sales, which occur more often.
  • The collection block is required; the viewing block is optional but strongly recommended.
  • Collection dates fall after the sale ends, and no later than 21 days afterward.

1. Choosing the sale

Once your item's category is selected, the list of available sales is shown to you, along with their dates.

ℹ️

The category must be filled in for the list of sales to appear: it's what determines which sales are compatible with your item.

Themed sales

These are dedicated to a specific type of item (vehicles, public works equipment, furniture, etc.).

  • They target buyers more precisely who are interested in your type of item.
  • They're featured in the sales calendar on the marketplace.
  • When a themed sale matches your category, it may be suggested or pre-selected for you automatically.

All-equipment sales

These host items from every category and occur more frequently in the calendar.

⚠️

An item can only be attached to one sale at a time. The choice of sale can no longer be changed on your own once the listing has been submitted.

2. Setting up collection (required)

The collection block appears once the sale is chosen. Click Add to fill it in.

You need to:

  1. choose the collection method, By appointment or Fixed dates;
  1. select a collection address, in every case.
Method
When to choose it
By appointment
You'd rather arrange a time slot with each buyer, especially for bulky items or a site with controlled access.
Fixed dates
You open specific time slots, shared by all buyers. Handy when you're releasing several items on the same day.
ℹ️

The collection address doesn't appear on the listing. It's shared with the buyer once their payment is complete.

Adding an address from the form

If the address doesn't exist yet, click Add an address: a form opens. The new address is automatically selected and added to your organization's address book, which you'll find under the Organization tab.

Date rules to follow

⏱️
  • Collection dates cannot be earlier than the end of the sale. - They cannot be later than 21 days after the sale ends. - Default dates and a time slot are suggested based on the sale selected; you can still change them.

3. Offering a viewing (optional)

Turn on the viewing block toggle to let buyers come see the item before bidding ends.

It works the same way as collection: By appointment or Fixed dates method, and an address. The collection address is suggested by default, and remains editable.

⏱️

Viewing dates must fall before the sale ends. A time slot is suggested by default based on the sale chosen; it remains editable.

💡

Offering a viewing reassures buyers about the item's real condition. It's especially useful for technical or bulky items, or those with defects.

Our tips

  • Check that the person on site is available at the time slots you've announced: they commit you.
  • Prefer a themed sale when your item matches it precisely, even if it's a bit further out.
  • Save your usual collection addresses in your address book: you'll save time on every listing.
  • Give yourself some margin on collection dates: buyers need to arrange transport, sometimes for heavy loads.

Frequently asked questions

Can I create my own sale?

No. You select an existing sale from the list provided. If none suits your calendar, talk to your Agorastore contact.

No sale appears in the list, why?

First check that you've selected a category: without it, the list stays empty. If the issue persists, contact customer service.

Can I change the sale after submitting my listing?

Not from your Personal Space. Our teams can move an item to another sale as long as it isn't published yet: contact customer service.

Is the collection address visible on the listing?

No. Only the general area appears where applicable; the exact address is shared with the buyer after payment.

Is the viewing required?

No, it's optional. It's nonetheless strongly recommended for items whose condition is hard to judge from photos.

Can I set collection for the day after the sale ends?

Yes, as long as the date is after the sale ends. Do keep in mind, though, the time the buyer needs to pay and then arrange transport.
