This article is for buyers. It explains where to find the items you've bid on, how to know if you're still in the lead, and how to bid again without leaving your personal space.
Summary
- All items you've bid on appear on the
My favorites and bidspage.
- A toggle lets you show only the items you've bid on, without your favorites.
- The
Highest bidderlabel tells you at a glance where you stand.
- You can bid directly from this page, without opening each listing.
1. Find your bids
Go to your personal space, on the My favorites and bids page.
The page shows your favorites and your bids together. To focus on your bids:
- Turn on the toggle to show only the items you've bid on.
- Use the quick filters to choose which sale statuses are shown: ongoing, upcoming, ended.
- Sort the list, for example by price, to prioritize what you're tracking.
By default, only ongoing and upcoming sales are shown. Check Ended to find your bids on closed sales.
2. Know if you're still in the lead
On each thumbnail, you'll find:
Information | What it tells you |
Highest bidder label | Your bid is currently the highest on this item. |
Current bid amount | The level reached by bids, across all participants. |
Time remaining | The time left before the sale closes. |
Sale status | Upcoming, ongoing, or ended. |
If the Highest bidder label is missing, it means you've been outbid. You're also notified by email, but it's best to check this page during the final hours of a sale you care about.
3. Bid from this page
Once the sale is open, the bidding block appears directly on the thumbnail, with the same options as on the listing.
This lets you:
- enter an amount and confirm your bid;
- use the quick bid suggestions;
- turn on automatic bidding to set a ceiling and let the system outbid on your behalf.
This is especially handy when you're tracking several items whose sales close on the same day.
A bid is firm and final: it cannot be withdrawn. Make sure you've read the full listing before placing a bid from this page.
4. After closing
- If you win the item, you're notified by email and tracking continues in your purchases: invoice, payment, then collection.
- If you've been outbid, the sale appears as ended in your list, with no further action.
- If the reserve price hasn't been met, the seller can accept or decline the sale: you're informed accordingly.
Keep an eye on your ended bids for a while: they're an excellent price reference for your future searches.
Our tips
- Set your maximum budget before bidding, including fees and transport, and stick to it.
- Use automatic bidding rather than watching the screen: your ceiling stays confidential.
- Check your ongoing bids at least once a day when several sales are closing.
- Bid early: it helps you avoid rushed decisions in the final minutes.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel a bid?
No. A bid commits you as soon as it's confirmed. If you think you made a data-entry mistake, contact customer service immediately.
How do I know if I've been outbid?
The Highest bidder label disappears from the thumbnail, and an email notifies you.
What is automatic bidding for?
You set the maximum amount you're willing to pay, and the system bids on your behalf, at the minimum amount necessary, up to that ceiling.
My bid was rejected, why?
The amount entered is probably below the minimum expected. A message will tell you: adjust your amount or use a quick suggestion.
What happens if the reserve price isn't met?
The seller is not required to sell. They may still accept the highest bid: you'll be informed of their decision.
Are my bids visible to other buyers?
Only the current bid amount is public. Your identity and your automatic bidding ceiling remain confidential.
