Create an alert so you never miss an item

Save a search and get notified as soon as a new listing matches it.

🛒

This article is for buyers. It explains how to save a search as an alert, receive emails as soon as an item matches your criteria, and manage your alerts from your personal space.

Summary

  • An alert is a saved search with its filters: you can access it in one click, without having to set everything up again.
  • You can be notified by email, daily or weekly, as soon as new items match.
  • You can create up to 10 alerts.
  • The title and filters of an alert cannot be changed: to change your criteria, create a new alert and delete the old one.

1. Creating an alert, step by step

Step 1 — Build your search

From the list of items for sale, apply all the filters you're interested in: category, location, sale status, item type, etc. This exact combination is what will be saved.

Step 2 — Click Create an alert

The button is located above your search results.

Step 3 — Set up your alert

A window prompts you to fill in:

  • the title of the search, as it will appear in your personal space;
  • whether to send emails, which you can turn on or off;
  • the frequency: daily or weekly.
Step 4 — Confirm

Click Create the alert. It is immediately available in your personal space.

If you had already saved a search with exactly the same filters, a message will let you know and direct you to find it among your alerts.

💡

Give each alert a clear title: Tractors Occitanie will be much more useful than Search 1. The title cannot be changed afterward.

2. Finding and managing your alerts

Your alerts are grouped in a dedicated menu in your personal space.

Action
How to do it
View results
Click View results: matching items are displayed in a new tab, updated in real time.
Turn emails on or off
Check or uncheck Email alerts.
Change the frequency
Select Daily or Weekly from the dropdown menu. It doesn't appear if emails are disabled.
Delete an alert
Click the trash icon.

3. Understanding how your filters are displayed

The criteria for each alert appear as tags. The filter type is not shown: for example, you'll see the category, country, or sale status, but not the name of the corresponding field.

ℹ️

An alert's filters cannot be changed. To refine your criteria, create a new alert from the desired search, then delete the one you no longer need.

4. Creating an alert for a seller

From a seller's page, you can also create an alert: the seller's name is then saved as a criterion. You'll be notified every time they list a new item for sale.

This is especially useful if you're following a public authority or company whose items regularly interest you.

Our tips

  • Create targeted alerts rather than one very broad alert: you'll receive emails that are truly relevant.
  • Add a geographic filter if collecting the item involves travel: this will save you a lot of disappointment.
  • Choose the daily frequency for highly sought-after items: some sales are short.
  • Clean up regularly: you're limited to 10 alerts.
