Understand the breakdown of your payout

Read your payout statement: amount, fees withheld, and supporting documents.

🏷️

This article is for sellers. It details what makes up the amount paid to you, the documents that support it, and how to check that a payment matches your sales.

Summary

  • The amount paid corresponds to the sale price collected minus the Agorastore commission, tax included.
  • Two documents explain this calculation: your sales invoice and your commission invoice.
  • A detailed breakdown can be downloaded from your commission invoices.
  • A single payment can cover several items: always match it against the invoice references.

1. How the amount paid is made up

Element
Effect on the amount
Hammer price of the item
This is the base: the amount of the winning bid.
VAT on the sale, if applicable
Collected from the buyer, then processed according to your tax regime.
Agorastore commission (including tax)
Deducted from the amount paid to you.
Buyer fees
No effect: they're paid by the buyer, on top of the price, and never pass through you.
💡

Amount paid out = sale price collected − commission including tax.

This is why the transfer you receive never exactly matches the bid amount shown on the listing.

2. The documents that support the calculation

The sales invoice

It's issued in your name and addressed to the buyer. It shows the item's price and, depending on the sale, the applicable VAT. You'll find it in Sales invoices.

The commission invoice

It corresponds to Agorastore's compensation on your sale. It's issued after collection is confirmed and can be found in Commission invoices.

The detailed commission breakdown

From a commission invoice, you can download a table showing, item by item, the hammer price, the rate applied, and the corresponding commission. This is the most useful document for your accounting.

3. Checking that a payment matches your sales

  1. Note the amount of the transfer received in your bank account.
  1. In Sales invoices, identify the invoices that moved to confirmed or commissioned status during the same period.
  1. Open the associated commission invoice and download its breakdown.
  1. Check that price collected − commission matches the amount received.
ℹ️

If several items were handed over to the same buyer, they may be processed together: a single payment can then cover several items.

4. Special cases

Situation
Effect on your payment
Sale cancelled for non-payment
No payment: the item may be relisted.
Collection not confirmed
Payment remains pending until confirmation is made.
Invalid bank details
Payment cannot go through: correct your information, then report it to customer service.
Credit note or refund
A corrective document is issued and the amount paid is adjusted accordingly.

Our tips

  • Always download your commission breakdown: it's the most complete document for your accounting.
  • Match each transfer to its invoice references rather than relying on amounts alone.
  • Keep the final versions of your invoices, available after collection is confirmed.
  • If you notice a discrepancy, contact your Agorastore advisor with the relevant invoice reference.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the amount I received lower than the hammer price?

Because the Agorastore commission is deducted from it. The breakdown appears on your commission invoice.

Do the fees paid by the buyer come back to me?

No. They compensate the service provided to the buyer and are not included in the amount paid to you.

How do I get the item-by-item breakdown?

From Commission invoices, download the breakdown associated with the relevant invoice.

Can a single transfer cover several sales?

Yes, when several items are processed together. Invoice references let you identify them.

I notice a discrepancy between the breakdown and the transfer received

Contact your Agorastore advisor, providing the invoice reference and the amount received: the match will be checked.

How is VAT handled on my sale?

It depends on your situation and the buyer's. Your invoice details the treatment line by line.
